Worthless Lieberman To Stump For GOP

Can we kick this worthless turncoat out of the caucus yet?

"I probably will support some Republican candidates for Congress or Senate in the election in 2010. I'm going to call them as I see them."
The words of Sen. Joe Lieberman. Our VP candidate in 2000. And traitor.

Lieberman

Of all the spin a guy could make on the Palin debate performance, this one has to be the most blatantly false:

Joe Lieberman, on Fox News:

She hit it out of the ballpark. She proved that she is ready to be John McCain's Vice President. She was strong, she was competent, she was informed, she was very genuine. She was humorous.

She wasn't strong, she wasn't competent, she wasn't informed, she wasn't genuine. Maybe she was humorous, in a forced, practiced, pathetic way.

But the idea that Lieberman, our own vice presidential candidate once upon a time, would come out like this as such a scuzzy liar actually really hurts. To think he ever had our trust.

Lieberman Must Go!

There's a good article on Joe Lieberman at The Hill, about some in Connecticut who think Lieberman ought to pay a price for being a traitor to the Democratic party.

Well, you don't have to be from Connecticut to feel that way, but it's nice to know that those who know him best clearly see the truth. The guy's a skunk.

If the Democratic party (when the Democratic party) picks up seats in the Senate, Joe Lieberman at that point is dead wood. He must, must, must, must pay a price for being a traitor. He must be set on the sidelines.

This paragraph is quite beside the point:

But Lieberman’s colleagues have been much more charitable, noting his financial support of the DSCC and his agreement with the party on many domestic issues.
Whatever his financial support is, it's negligible. There's no way this guy should be allowed to hang around no matter how much money he contributes. And whatever his "agreement" is on many domestic issues, his betrayal is a far more grievous matter. Out with the creep!

AP Calls Lieberman a Prick

Link to the article I saw, although there are plenty of others.

His top contenders are said to include Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Less traditional choices mentioned include former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, an abortion-rights supporter, and Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Democratic vice presidential prick in 2000 who now is an independent.
It looks like the AP's political news is getting more and more accurate all the time! A tip of the hat to the AP for pulling no punches and calling it as it is.

Joe Lieberman Frosted After Cake Gets Him

The other day when McCain's bus wrecked, Joe Lieberman was on board, and, as with many of his other activities in life, there was a mess to clean up afterwards.

It seems there was a staffer's birthday cake on the bus that shifted in the incident and got all over the senator.

To keep me from paraphrasing a story second- or third-hand that I don't really know anything about, I'll let him help me out:

"At the moment of impact I was sitting in a booth ... right in front of counter right where the cake was. The cake went all over me. That was the end of my suit. I always wondered whether sometime a political protester would hit me with a pie in the face. I never thought a friendly birthday cake would attack me from the rear."
It's interesting to hear that he thinks about such things, getting a pie in the face from a protester. But as he explains it here, this time it was friendly fire.

Almost everything Joe does "takes the cake," but this time he outdid himself!

Lieberman Loves Hagee in McCain's Place

Prominent John McCain supporter, disgraced Senator Joe Lieberman appeared at John Hagee's "Christians United for Israel" conference.

Lieberman said, "The bond that I feel with Pastor Hagee and each and every one of you is much stronger than that, and so I am proud to stand with you tonight."

We recall Pastor Hagee also as a prominent McCain backer, until his controversial theological and political views were aired. The final straw seemed to be his view of Hitler being directed against the Jews by God with the end goal of the survivors making their way to Israel.

Pastor Hagee was unceremoniously thrown under the McCain bus, but now with Lieberman's help appears to be crawling back out. No mention of tire marks or bruising was among the reports coming out of the conference.

Terrorist Fist Jab

Oh no! Maybe this really is a terrorist fist jab! Bush and Lieberman do it!

The Tired Terrorist Card

Joe Lieberman is out there playing that same old tired terrorist card once again. It turns out, once again, that we can never get away, that we absolutely need the Republicans to keep the presidency in perpetuity because... here it comes... repeat after me... the terrorists are going to get us otherwise.

It looks like the Republicans have given the victory to the terrorists. The actual truth is that they just got lucky on 9/11, with our own government (Republicans) asleep at the switch. But now, thanks to Bush's lack of vigilance and the luck they had that one day, we need to live in fear forever.

The old terrorist card is getting very very tired. But not so much, apparently, that they won't keep playing it. The Republicans' politics of fear needs to be rejected once and for all.

(As for Holy Joe, the faster he's kicked to the curb, the happier we'll be.)

Lieberman Must Go

Lieberman Must Go

I saw just a tiny bit of the video at that site. Right at the beginning it mentions an "unlikely love affair" between Lieberman and George Bush, and shows Bush's famous "smooch" with Lieberman.

I wish I could discern this, could fathom this, what went wrong with Lieberman. How could a guy as apparently smart as he is be so swayed by a liar and crook like George W. Bush? It blows my mind that here we have our own Democratic VP nominee from 2000, a complete traitor to his party, which was behind him all the way at that time. There's something surreal about it. The guy went off track and never got back on. He stabbed us all in the back. Very weird.

I remember when he was running for president in 2004, of course on our Democratic ticket. He wasn't claiming big Republican allegiance, which I'm pretty sure I would remember. So whether it was a trojan horse thing or what, who knows? I still know a guy who thinks Lieberman would've been a great Democratic nominee this year! To which the only answer is twofold: 1) Whatever; and, 2) Why am I talking to you again?

My biggest memory of Lieberman running in 2004 was this: For some unexplainable reason, I was watching C-SPAN's "Road to the White House." And they had Lieberman touring a boating, hunting, fishing, mobile home show in Oklahoma. The place took up what must've been several football fields in space. And there was old hushpuppy Joe Lieberman, which his lazy voice wandering from booth to booth, chatting casually with the vendors, children, and patrons. I was transfixed, really. I watched it to the end. There was a water-skiing squirrel in there somewhere. Lieberman was asking children their names. And if one was a biblical name, he was mentioning it and its history. It was so trivial and interesting at the same time.

I wasn't for him of course. At the time I was for Dean. But I figured he was OK as also-rans go. I sure wasn't expecting such a grand betrayal on his part, which is very disappointing.

Joe Lieberman went over to the dark side -- it doesn't make any sense, but it happened. It would be really nice, let's say we get a big enough majority in November, to see him finally kicked to the curb. Assuming he doesn't wake up, come back, and make nice once again.
