The Budweiser Outtakes

I was in a restaurant today looking at a nice Budweiser Christmas card, a display on the table advertising their product and wishing us a good holiday.

There was nice picture of the Clydesdales and the spotted dog they have.

It made me think of how they're featured in the touchy feely ads, marching through the snow. The dog -- what's the dog do? -- sitting on the seat of the wagon.

Then it made me think of how they make the ads. Since you can't have a horse dropping a load in the ad or the dog peeing on something.

In all this thinking, it occurred to me that someone at Budweiser, or the ad agencies, must have quite a bloopers reel of the horses and dog. With the director shouting, "Cut! Put down some white snow there, backup, we'll shoot again in 15 minutes!"

Food Shapes: A Porkchop Chicken

It's been a while since I've posted pictures of food that looks like something else. In January I had the Jester Scorpion Bacon and the Goddess Seahorse Bacon. Those were great ones!

Tonight I have the beginnings of a good Porkchop Chicken. The "eye" is part of a red pepper that just happened to land there. Then the head. And the piece of tomato sticking out looks like a beak. Maybe it's not a chicken. Especially if you tie in the laid back bone that looks like the ear of something.

Whatever it is, it's definitely got its back up. And check out the bone on the backside. It's practically a bottle opener!

A beautiful piece of food. I could've sold it on eBay, but, alas, I've already eaten it.

Palin Wants to Kill Alaska's Animals

I asked someone on the phone today what she thought of Sarah Palin. The response, not good, for this reason, that she wants to kill all the wild animals in Alaska so she can drill for oil.

You can easily find the stories that say she's against the polar bear, wants to kill the polar bear off. That's disgusting!

Check this out, she's less environmentally friendly than George Bush!

"Palin opposes the Bush administration's decision to list polar bears as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act."
Look at the picture. I know that's not a polar bear, but a grizzly. You're sitting there with a dead bear, how terrible does that look?
