Give Alaska Back to the Alaskans!

Ouch. McCain's motto is "Country First," but Sarah Palin's is "Alaska First," as in perhaps wanting it to be an independent country.

It's been hinted at for a couple days, that Palin had been a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, but has now been confirmed.

Lynette Clark, the chairman of the AIP, told ABC News that Palin and her husband were members in 1994, and then in 1996 Palin became a Republican and left the party.

The McCain-Palin campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

How about, "D'oh!"
