"My Friends," In Writing

The current article on healthcare written by McCain that everyone's talking about ... I wonder if that was a speech he gave somewhere or something he wrote out for publication.

Because it's weird that his little tic, saying "My friends" all the time, would be in there if he wrote it out. Yet there it is, a couple times:

Toward the beginning:

The problem, my friends, with the U.S. health care system is not that Americans don’t have fine doctors, medical technology, and treatments.

Toward the end:

The "solution," my friends, isn’t a one-size-fits-all big-government takeover of health care.
