You Can't Count On John McCain

Here's what McCain is saying by suspending his campaign and canceling the debates: You can't count on John McCain.

If there's an issue, a crisis, he's completely hotheaded, thrown for a loop, consumed by it. You have plans, you're looking for stability, John McCain can't provide it.

McCain is carried along by events, he's not in control of events. He's adrift, swept along, swept off his feet.

Of course the nation is looking for better leadership than that. But whatever happens, McCain loses it. You simply can't count on him. Nothing's guaranteed, nothing's predictable. Everyday you'd be left wondering, what banana has he slipped on today?

If Obama can simply show a persona of stability, I think he ought to win.
