How Odd: "Thanks, But No Thanks"

It's very odd that Sarah Palin keeps repeating the same old speech, especially the "Thanks, but no thanks" line concerning the famous Bridge To Nowhere. Is there someone just pulling a string to get one of the 10 different phrases she knows?

It would be odd even if the claim were true. But it's especially odd when it's been pointed out repeatedly that she never said any such thing. (And now we know, if she had ever said it, she would have said it a dozen times, so there'd be plenty of recorded instances.)

If something is out and out false, and you keep repeating it, that says some things about you: 1) You're oblivious to the truth; 2) You haven't got much else to say.

And yet, here she is still today:

"You're gonna hear a lot about the abusive practice of earmarks in Congress from our good senator here. We championed in Alaska reform of the old earmark process. I told Congress, 'Thanks, but no thanks' for that Bridge To Nowhere up in Alaska. If our state wanted a bridge, we were gonna build it ourselves."

Is this someone who's thinking for herself? It's time for a total script makeover!

When it comes to Sarah Palin, I hope the voters say, "Thanks, but no thanks."
